AESTHETIC FILLING

Our aesthetic fillings provide natural-looking tooth-colored restorations in one of two ways:

Bonding is the simplest type of filling. This is performed in one single sitting and is comprised of a composite resin material (a mixture of glass and resin particles) that is placed into smaller cavities and chemically bonded or adhered to the tooth with special liquid “bonding agents.”

Alternatively, the ceramic inlay or onlay (partial coverage restoration) is performed when a larger filling is required. Ceramic fillings are some of the most aesthetic restorations of modern dentistry. They are strong, natural-looking, and long lasting. Dr. Kaufman is skilled in performing this procedure so they will “disappear,” leaving what will appear to be a perfectly healthy intact tooth. Thanks to our CEREC computerized milling machine, inlays and onlays can be made in a single office visit. The entire procedure often takes less than an hour instead of the usual two or three visits.
